For Peter

Laura never forgets a face, at any point she can pull fifty facts on a person. However, she does not often go and seek a person out after the first meeting. Peter is ....different, Laura cannot explain why but she looks for him, watches him, studies him.

She realises she wishes to talk to him again but she is not known for her conversation starters. It is hard. Eventually, she stands outside his room in the evening and waits for him to emerge. She is silent until the door opens so Peter should have no idea she is there.

When the door creaks open she catches his scent and puts her hand in the door. She peers around.

"You owe me a joke."

"I -"

It takes him a second to scale back and remember just what it is Laura's talking about. Especially after

a) hardly expecting her to appear at his door; and
b) what the hell, Spidey-sense? (Is this thing on?)

(Well, it turns out his Spidey-sense is only activated when someone wants to harm him, and this is ... not that kind of a situation, apparently.

Thankfully. )

Once that second's thought is over, Peter shakes his head, a grin spread across his face to replace confusion.

"Yeah," he says. "Yeah, I guess I do."

There's a small laugh.

"Okay, I'll need to think of a good one. Uh - do you want to come in?"
