After the battle is over....
When Wolverine is doing double duty with the Avengers, Scott calls Laura up to the main team to take his place. She does not protest, even when it cuts into a barbecue that is being organised for the students at Xavier's. Her team mates are angry on her behalf but she does not care, a battle is still easier than socialing for her.
The dinosaur rampaging through the streets of New York, is smarter than it should be. The team divides, one half to find the telepath behind it and the other to contain the beat. She is not surprised when Spiderman joins the chase, the dinosaur would disturb anyone on their day off. It is not the first they've worked together, bumping into each other is becoming a regular occurrence.
When Mastermind is picked up, and the dinosaur penned, Laura informs Scott she will not be returning with the team, that she would prefer to spend her afternoon in the city. When he voices no strong objections she walks over to join Peter.

Laura never forgets a face, at any point she can pull fifty facts on a person. However, she does not often go and seek a person out after the first meeting. Peter is ....different, Laura cannot explain why but she looks for him, watches him, studies him.

Character's background (their past and present) & Character’s personality:
Laura Kinney or X-23 as she was first known, was a clone of the famous mutant wolverine. The Weapon X facility did not have a full sample of Wolverine’s DNA and found they could fill it by adding the Y chrone. They were 12 failed attempts to create their perfect weapon. Eventually, they tried implanting the dan into a scientist and having her carry the baby to term.
From her birth until her sixteenth year, Laura was kept in a tightly regulated set of rooms. She was trained to fight, to kill. Before she was ten, they excelerated her process to show the mutant gene. Two bone claws popped out of each hand, and one in each foot. Young as she was, she underwent surgery where they were taken out of her and laced with the metal admantium. She was then forced to kill a puppy to prove she had no emotion. Laura found this impossible.
The facility realised Laura might not be the obedient weapon they had hoped for so they developed a trigger scent. Once put on a target, Laura killed them in homocidal rage.
Laura’s birth mother objected to how everything was handled, and sought to free her daughter. She gave Laura her name. On the day she was freed the labs sprayed Laura’s mother with the trigger sent and Laura killed her own mother.
Free of the facility, she roamed around on the streets until Wolverine found her and took her to the X-Academy where she joined the team of teenage mutants.

At first glance Laura looks like your typical woman, just a little too calm and quiet for her age. Underneath the surface however there is a lot of emotion and thought that are hidden behind this front, stemming back from how she has been shaped since she was born.
Laura is a clone and was born and grew up in a laboratory. The laboratory had a highly controlled environment, where all her training and development was done to turn her into a living weapon. Consequently only proper language was used around her and she speaks English in it’s purest form, and she rarely uses slang as she was not exposed to any for it until she was a teenager living in the streets of New York.
In the laboratory, Laura was never mollycoddled, and was never taught how to express an opinion or to make social chit chat. Her talk was mostly limited to orders and affirming orders. This has made Laura seem very withdrawn as she rarely speaks more than one or two sentences at a time. She is also less likely to be the person to start a conversation unless there is something specific that she needs to say or ask as she does not need see the need to waste time and words on pointless chat.
The lack of conversation and social interaction when Laura was young was part of the process of turning her into a mindless, controllable killer. They wanted her to have no emotion or feelings. They tried methods such as making her kill a puppy that she had been allowed as a pet. Laura displays distress at this and after she finds she has killed her sensei under the trigger drug. She had been unable to kill him under a direct order. These experiences taught her that the deaths would happen no matter what and they succeeded in turning her into a highly skilled and trained combatant; who is able to kill dozens of heavily armed opponents during a single encounter. However, they did not succeed in beating the humanity out of her. Laura continued showed signs of humanity and emotion; in one particular mission when X-23 was assigned to assassinate Martin Sutter and his family, she killed Sutter and his wife without hesitation, but she spared their young son, Henry.

Julian Keller, noticed her, and called her weird. He was the first person to interact with her, even if it was in a negative fashion. She showed she cared by watching him, when he was injured, she perched by his bed at night, and even defended him in a fight. Eventually Laura began to develop a romantic interest in him, but she has said herself that she does not understand what she feels for him.
Laura also begins to show feelings enough to develop friendships. One time when she runs off from Julian she goes to cut herself and her team mate Mercury found her. Mercury placed an arm around her and talked to her. Laura did not pull away and a bond of sorts developed. When Mercury was kidnapped Laura went after her to rescue her.
Laura is secretive and does not share information about herself easily. She tells information about herself on a need to know basis. When she does she is very fact or fact and calm, even about the torture that she received at the hands of Weapon X. She has a no nonsense attitude towards situations and analyses them. She is also clever and has a wide range of facts. When she is talking in a conversation, she still prefers to state the facts rather than give an opinion. She has still to learn how to develop her own opinion on many things and still has has trouble comprehending and expressing the many new emotions she has been experiencing for the very first time.
As time has gone on, Laura has felt hampered in expressing herself because the people around her view her as a weapon to be used or with pity. She realises she does not know who she is, and has acted as people told her she should act. It made her uncomfortable to be around the X-men, especially after a divide in the X-men. Wolverine asked her to pick a side. Laua who normally, would have followed his lead, expressed her that she wanted to take a third option and pick no side. She did not want to be a pawn. This lead her to leave the X-men to trace her own bloody past. Laura expresses to Gambit that she feels nothing about her past, but she internalises it. From her internal monologues it is clear she doesn’t want the pass to shape her, and she wants to be something else.

Laura is the female clone of Wolverine, created from Wolverine’s genes with the result that her mutant powers are similar to his. Like Wolverine her main ability is an accelerated healing factor that allows her to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissues and cells a great deal faster than the average person, for example injuries such as a gunshot or a slash heal with in minutes. She can regenerate large areas of herself. When she and Daken were caught in a blast and shown as near skeletons, she emerged from the blast, healing herself. Laura can also regrow severed limbs. Kimumra, her handler severed her arm from her body and Laura was able to regrow it, this took days to do.
The accelerated healing system does have an effect on her immune system making her immune to most diseases and infections. One noticeable being the Legacy Virus which nearly killed her. Drugs and toxins can effect her in sufficient doses and Laura is deeply affected by the trigger which was designed to ensure it would always make hr kill her target.
The healing factor also heightens Laura’s physical senses, strength, stamina, agility, and reflexes to superhuman levels. Like Wolverine, X-23 possesses retractable bone claws, however unlike him she has two claws in each hand which emerge from her fists and she also has a singe claw in each foot. These claws were taken out of her body by Zander Rice, sharpened, coated with adamantium, and reinserted into her body. The adamantium claws are virtually unbreakable and capable of cutting almost any substance.
Laura was trained to be a killer and is also proficient in hand to hand combat, fire arms and explosives.

Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? Laura’s life has been a series of mishaps, and she is only beginning to discover who she really is. In the environment of a new setting, I plan to let her discover herself, without dealing with the preconceived notions of every X-man.

There was a faint rustling in the undergrowth which the average person would not have paid any head to. Laura was not your average person and paused to sniff the air. Rabbit, she identified the smell coming from the undergrowth. A rabbit would not feed many people however she was yet to find the tracks of larger prey. If she ignored the rabbit and found little other prey she would fail in her mission to bring good to the wagons. Laura did not want to fail her mission.
Laura popped the claws on her left hand, there was a brief second of pain is they broke through the skin but it was barely noticeable to her as it was an every day occurrence. She approached the patch of undergrowth silently and stabbed quickly down on the spot that she had identified the rabbit before it had a chance to escape. In an instant she had the rabbit picked up by the scruff of the neck and deposited it into her sack so it would not get in the way of further hunting. Confidently she continued down the trail.
She was not perturbed by her new surroundings. They were different, shifting, changing. It felt ….good. No one had told her she could not kill the rabbit. There was one problem, she missed those she who had called her friends. It was unexpected. She did not need them. They would be useless.
The second she heard voices, Laura climbed into a tree, and hid on the lower branch where she could observe them and gauge their motives before she decided they were joining the simulation or were here next target.

Julian Keller, noticed her, and called her weird. He was the first person to interact with her, even if it was in a negative fashion. She showed she cared by watching him, when he was injured, she perched by his bed at night, and even defended him in a fight. Eventually Laura began to develop a romantic interest in him, but she has said herself that she does not understand what she feels for him.
Laura also begins to show feelings enough to develop friendships. One time when she runs off from Julian she goes to cut herself and her team mate Mercury found her. Mercury placed an arm around her and talked to her. Laura did not pull away and a bond of sorts developed. When Mercury was kidnapped Laura went after her to rescue her.
Laura is secretive and does not share information about herself easily. She tells information about herself on a need to know basis. When she does she is very fact or fact and calm, even about the torture that she received at the hands of Weapon X. She has a no nonsense attitude towards situations and analyses them. She is also clever and has a wide range of facts. When she is talking in a conversation, she still prefers to state the facts rather than give an opinion. She has still to learn how to develop her own opinion on many things and still has has trouble comprehending and expressing the many new emotions she has been experiencing for the very first time.
As time has gone on, Laura has felt hampered in expressing herself because the people around her view her as a weapon to be used or with pity. She realises she does not know who she is, and has acted as people told her she should act. It made her uncomfortable to be around the X-men, especially after a divide in the X-men. Wolverine asked her to pick a side. Laua who normally, would have followed his lead, expressed her that she wanted to take a third option and pick no side. She did not want to be a pawn. This lead her to leave the X-men to trace her own bloody past. Laura expresses to Gambit that she feels nothing about her past, but she internalises it. From her internal monologues it is clear she doesn’t want the pass to shape her, and she wants to be something else.
Laura returned to the X-men, however she felt pushed back into a box. People expected her to act as she had before. This included Julian, who wanted to act on the budding emotions between them. Laura refused him and told him she felt nothing for him. This was to ensure his emotions and views on life would not entangle with hers and shape her. When she is offered the chance to move schools to the Avengers Academy, she takes it. There she finds that people are okay with her past, they don’t judge her on it or pity her. She is quieter there, taking the time to observe other people and slowly integrate herself with the other students. She does not act like a trained killer and is described by Juston as a ‘tortured pacifist’.
Laura has no desires to kill, even when she is faced with a villian At her canon point, she is trapped in the Arcade’s Arena. It has a similar to Battle Royale setting but Laura defies Arcade, and her training. She does not act as a predator, and does not set out to kill anyone. Instead, she protects her friends and tries to aid their escape attempts. In Kore, this new attitude will carry on.

There was a faint rustling in the undergrowth which the average person would not have paid any head to. Laura was not your average person and paused to sniff the air. Rabbit, she identified the smell coming from the undergrowth. A rabbit would not feed many people however she was yet to find the tracks of larger prey. If she ignored the rabbit and found little other prey she would fail in her mission to bring good to the wagons. Laura did not want to fail her mission.
Laura popped the claws on her left hand, there was a brief second of pain is they broke through the skin but it was barely noticeable to her as it was an every day occurrence. She approached the patch of undergrowth silently and stabbed quickly down on the spot that she had identified the rabbit before it had a chance to escape. In an instant she had the rabbit picked up by the scruff of the neck and deposited it into her sack so it would not get in the way of further hunting. Confidently she continued down the trail.
She was not perturbed by her new surroundings. They were different to Arcade’s arena - the surrounding where unshifting, and there was no tension, or people wondering whether she was going to turn on her friends and kill them. She felt freer like she had at the Avengers Academy. Most people did not know her. There was one problem, Julian, she did not wish for him to be watching her everywhere she went. She knew his scent and could walk the other way, she didn’t want to be responsible for his emotions. He should have reined those in. However, she recognised that if he was in danger, she would protect him like she would her new friends.
The second she heard voices in the forest, Laura climbed into a tree, and hid on the lower branch where she could observe them and gauge their motives from being away from the center of the town.

She can regenerate large areas of herself. When she and Daken were caught in a blast and shown as near skeletons, she emerged from the blast, healing herself. Laura can also regrow severed limbs. Kimumra, her handler severed her arm from her body and Laura was able to regrow it, this took days to do.
The accelerated healing system does have an effect on her immune system making her immune to most diseases and infections. One noticeable being the Legacy Virus which nearly killed her. Drugs and toxins can effect her in sufficient doses and Laura is deeply affected by the trigger which was designed to ensure it would always make hr kill her target.
The healing factor also heightens Laura’s physical senses, strength, stamina, agility, and reflexes to superhuman levels. Like Wolverine, X-23 possesses retractable bone claws, however unlike him she has two claws in each hand which emerge from her fists and she also has a singe claw in each foot. These claws were taken out of her body by Zander Rice, sharpened, coated with adamantium, and reinserted into her body. The adamantium claws are virtually unbreakable and capable of cutting almost any substance.
Laura was trained to be a killer and is also proficient in hand to hand combat, fire arms and explosives.

This has made Laura seem very withdrawn as she rarely speaks more than one or two sentences at a time. She is also less likely to be the person to start a conversation unless there is something specific that she needs to say or ask as she does not need see the need to waste time and words on pointless chat.
The lack of conversation and social interaction when Laura was young was part of the process of turning her into a mindless, controllable killer. They wanted her to have no emotion or feelings. They tried methods such as making her kill a puppy that she had been allowed as a pet. Laura displays distress at this and after she finds she has killed her sensei under the trigger drug. Laura’s secretive nature leads her to go off alone to pursue her past and find out for herself who she really is. Away from the other teens, Laura’s social improvements fade away. She tells Gambit that she does understand friendship, and when Julian catches up with her again, she refuses his advances. All of this indicating that she wants to be her own person where she is not defined by the people she is around. She finds feeling complicate what she needs to discover about herself.

Laura had promised Jubilee that she would participate in the game. It was a pointless outdoor exercise and her companion’s sole purpose for it was to ‘beat the boys’. Despite the time she had spent in company of people her age, their reasons often confused her. She had spent the first thirteen years of her life training. Every activity she had participated in had a purpose to improve her skills, strength or agility. She was aware that her outlook was perceived to be wrong. She often smelt pity on the people around her or awkward poses as they tried to talk to her. It made her feel alone. A newer emotion for her.
“I will leave tomorrow,” she said flatly to Jubilee as joined her outside.
“No Laura, stay and hang out with me, we can go shopping and have fun. You don’t need to worry about the spoilsports here!” Jubiliee bubbled the information at her friend, casting a look at some of the other people gathered around the outdoor court. She tried to slip an arm through Laura but Laura pulled her arm away.
“No. I do not belong,” Laura got the words out with difficulty. “I am only a weapon to the adults.” She did not wish to be this anymore. She did not wish to dream about the endless blood on her hands anymore. It was time for her to find out who she really was and she was eighty-three percent sure she was not the type of person to worry about beating the boys.
Plans: My plans for her are basic at the moment! I plan to throw her at plots and characters and seeing how she develops and interacts with people in social and dangerous situations.

Why this form: Lone wolves are strong and aggressive like Laura. When a lone wolf joins a pack, he becomes more friendly and protective as wolf packs form strong bonds. Underneath the confusion of the world and her inability to discern what her own emotions mean, Laura wants these ties. When she was with the x-men at school, she became part of a team and was fierce in her protection of them. At her canon point, she has left to join Academy X because she was looking for a place to belong and be accepted. Ezhno will aid Laura in showing the personality and emotions that she finds difficulty in expressing for herself.

Laura snarled as she came to in her chains and she strained against them. Red eyes darted across the room. She could smell him and she wanted free to get at him. The chains were heavy but she could contort her body. A dislocated shoulder would not be a disadvantage.
"I will kill you."

'I can smell their reactions when they hear I cut. Shock, revolution, fear, worry, anger. I do not understand. It helps me to feel. I am frustrated that I can't feel more for what I have done. I know I should. But I cannot cry. I just feel hollow'

[The team parted at the entrance. Wolverine gave his reports to Cyclops alone. It suited X23 fine. She sniffed the air for Julian's sent and began to trace it to it's origin. He would call her Laura and she would feel less like a monster. The clothes with the bloodstains would go to the wash and she would start anew again.
She opened Julian's bedroom and walked in] I am back.
